Tokyo Bubble Tea

Tokyo Bubble Tea is located at Ground Floor, 238 Center, Panalturan Street, Banawe, Quezon City.

Bubble tea, also known as pearl milk tea, boba-milk tea or yung-marc, is a Taiwanese tea-based drink. Most bubble tea recipes contain a tea base mixed/shaken with fruit or milk, to which chewy tapioca balls and/or fruit jellies are often added. The “bubble” refers to the foam created by shaking the tea, which itself is called “pàomò” (泡沫) tea, meaning “frothy/foamy” tea. Ice-blended versions are usually mixed with fruit or syrup, resulting in a slushy consistency.

A friend of mine, Jen, (also my co-intern at Philippine Orthopedic Center) brought me to a post-duty date one rainy afternoon. She really wanted me to try this tea house near POC and she also said that their cake jars are really good.

Before we went to Tokyo Bubble Tea, we bought a pizza at Papa John’s first because we wanted a ‘heavy’ merienda after duty and I also wanted to try that one. We just walked going there and the rain poured so we got a bit wet. Lol.

I thought that the bubble tea that she was saying is just an ordinary milktea shop like the common ones. But I was absolutely wrong. I was amazed by the place as soon as we got in. The place is so ‘kawaii’ and it’s in pink. Very kawaii! 10/10 rating for their place.

Jen recommended their Strawberry Milktea so I ordered it with pearl and egg pudding. I really love egg pudding in my milktea. And she wasn’t wrong. It was really good and I didn’t expect it would be in a big mug. It’s a bit pricey but it’s worth it! 9/10 rating for their milk tea.

Their service was also good. The milk tea was served after a few minutes only. Their crew are also very friendly. So another 9/10 rating for their service.

Here are some photos of us at the kawaii place:

P.S. We were still in our duty uniform! Hahaha! 🙂
